For over nine years Rebecca had worked for our family. Originally, we hired Rebecca as the nanny for our three-year-old son. Within a few weeks of her hire, our son had his fourth birthday party. Rebecca organized it. Although she was brand new to New York City, Rebecca researched where children’s parties were held, chose the perfect place and organized a wonderful event. It quickly became apparent that we had found someone special. As a result, we gave Rebecca the additional responsibilities of Personal Assistant and Household Manager. Rebecca excelled beyond our expectations. Obviously, we hold Rebecca in the highest regard, or we would not entrust our precious son to her. Any family that is lucky enough to work with her and her company, Sleep Cadets, Inc., will value her maturity, competence, exceptional natural abilities, attention to detail, dedication to her work and charming manner. It gave us peace of mind knowing that she was in complete control of our son. We are pleased to give her our recommendation.

Rebecca was a true professional from the moment I spoke to her. I knew immediately that she was a great fit to help my son and I through our sleep issues. By altering his schedule and using the sleep shuffle method those sleep issues were resolved. My 21 month old son went from waking up halfway through the night and being up for 3-4 hours to going through the entire night not calling for me once. Rebecca always responded back to any questions quickly and truly cared about both my son and I throughout the entire process. The process just felt so natural to both myself and my son with very little crying. With Rebecca’s gentle guidance and consistency, we have a beautiful bedtime routine! Our lives are changed for the better. I would highly recommend Rebecca to anyone experiencing sleep issues with their child.

Yes, we absolutely recommend Sleep Cadets, Inc. We were lost. Our 15 month old son had no normal bedtime, he never went to sleep without being held, walked or rocked, and most nights he ended up in our bed by the middle of the night. We were pretty scared to try to instill a new, foreign routine to him as we were sure he would resist. We followed Rebecca’s plan and stuck with it and really by the 3rd or 4th night we were able to see it working and now 3 weeks later it really has worked. Our now 16 month old is sleeping from 9pm through the whole night in his own crib and is able to self soothe and put himself back to bed when he wakes in the middle of the night. We both work full time so we really had no nighttime routine. Our 15 month old son was eating dinner with us at 8pm and we were lost as to how to get him to sleep at a proper and reasonable time for a baby his age. Rebecca gave us a schedule tailored to our needs and by sticking to it we have created the routine and environment our son needed to learn to go to sleep on his own without being held, walked or rocked. All of the steps of the sleep shuffle progression worked as Rebecca told us to expect.

Upon bringing home our new baby our 16 month old stopped sleeping through the night and fighting his naps. He was always a terrific sleeper and his behavior began suffering as he became more and more sleep deprived by the day. I contacted Rebecca and she immediately jumped into action. Rebecca gave us the tools we needed to get our 16 month old back to sleeping on his own. She created an individualized plan for him based on his needs and temperament. We began by improving his schedule using her direction and then moved on to the sleep shuffle method. If one strategy appeared to be helping more she was quick to recognize it and help guide us through the process. She provides you with endless support via live phone calls text and email. you feel truly supported at a time when you need it the most.

If I have to use 3 words to conclude why I recommend Sleep Cadets sleep coaching, they are Support, Skills, and Success.

1. Support
I was desperate to stop almost 3 years of sleeping struggles with my daughter. But I found the books, online resources, or one type fits all programs wouldn’t work for my complicated case, such as 2 kids sharing a room, late bedtime, midnight visiting, early morning struggles, hard to fall asleep, and etc. So I found Rebecca to help me customize a plan just for me. Then I found it’s also an everyday support that a mom needs to go through the challenge of the training. Not like many other programs, Rebecca talks to me almost every morning in the beginning of the training. When going through tough time at night, that I can’t go through books to find answers, her support is always there through a text message. That support made me feel I’m not doing it alone! Not only I can seek for advice, but also a pat on the shoulder “mom/child, you did so well!”

2. Skills
Certainly, Rebecca is skillful and professional. The more important thing is that she gives you the power of being a sleep training expert and let you own the skills. So if there is ever hiccups, I know what to do to get my kids back on track. I can use the skill to set up boundaries with my children in other situations. I can share the skill with other parents who are struggling.

3. Success
It really works!! Even thought, it might seem to be a never ending training process, it actually works. The success comes with everyday’s practice, rather than only a period of time. But over a week or two weeks of training, we see the huge difference. My husband and I think it’s the best investment that we’ve ever made, successfully!

Thank you so much Sleep Cadets Sleep Coaching! thank you so much, Rebecca!

We cannot thank Rebecca enough for what she did for our family. We reached out to Rebecca when our twins were 8 months old and we needed help! Jack was waking up during the night like a newborn again and all I knew was to go in and nurse him back to sleep. When I fed Jack, I fed Paige, so I was in their room every 2 hours. I was exhausted and needed a plan! Rebecca helped us, listened to what our needs were and gave us the right tools to get there. We implemented a night time routine and a plan throughout the night. I learned when one baby woke up, the other one didn’t. I was finally able to sleep without constant anxiety. With Rebecca’s help, we weened one nighttime feeding and then another. Having Rebecca walk us through each step and available to talk/text was worth every single penny. I would recommend Rebecca in a heartbeat and would use her again if any of our 3 children had any other sleep issues! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sleep Coaching FAQS

Who is Rebecca Kammerer of Sleep Cadets, Inc?

What’s the best age to sleep train my baby?

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics; "Babies do not have regular sleep cycles until about 6 months of age. While newborns sleep about 16 to 17 hours per day, they may only sleep 1 or 2 hours at a time. As babies get older, they need less sleep. However, different babies have different sleep needs. It is normal for a 6-month-old to wake up during the night but go back to sleep after a few minutes." In my opinion, you can begin Sleep Shaping your child from newborn to 6 months. At around 6 to 9 months, after your pediatrician gives you the go ahead, you can begin sleep coaching.

Can you help me teach my baby and/or toddler to sleep?

In order to know if working together is a good fit, we’ll need to speak on the phone. I’ll ask you lots of questions about what’s not working for you now, what you want in the future.

How does your Sleep Programs work?

I offer in-home and phone Sleep Coaching Programs, where you are guided on how to implement your personalized sleep plan.

How do I know if you can really help me?

We will talk on the phone to be sure that it’s a good fit. I will only accept you as a client if I’m confident that I can help you.

Do you work with families out of your area?

Yes, I have worked with families from all over the world.

What sleep training method do you use?

I have coined my method of sleep coaching as, "Attachment Theory Based Sleep Coaching". Every child is unique. Each has their own temperament to take into consideration and every family dynamic is different. I work at learning all I can about the families I work with. Once we have extensively gone through a families history form we figure out the best approach at sleep coaching. Working with a sleep training book or a sleep trainer that only communicates through a very limited number of calls and/or communication only through email or text can be very frustrating. That is why I only work directly with families over a period of weeks. I want to be available when things go off track.

What age babies do you work with?

I help families with Sleep Shaping babies from newborn weeks to 5.5 months old.  Sleep Coaching can take place when your pediatrician gives you the go ahead anywhere between 6 to 9 months. I work with families that have children from newborn to 12 years of age.

How long will it take to sleep train my baby?

If your baby is healthy and you are able to follow the detailed sleep coaching instructions, your baby could be sleeping in two weeks. For some families it can take more time.

If I think I’d like to work with you, what are the next steps?
